Rodney W. Van Horn
Rod, 81, entered into heaven on June 27, 2021. Born in Salem, West Virginia. Predeceased by his parents, Pastor Kenneth and Doris (Langworthy) Van Horn; sister Arlouene (Van Horn) Edwards, and grandson Brendon Costello. Survived by his wife Aneita (Haines) Van Horn; children James (Monica) Van Horn, Kathryn (Calvin) Chisholm, Alison Costello and Joseph Costello; brother, Floyd (Yevonne) Van Horn; grandchildren, Josiah, Jordan, Alanna, Dillon, and Luke; 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
After serving seven years in the Navy nuclear submarine service, Rod completed college at R. I. T. receiving a BS Degree and taught at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf and later worked at Kodak as a quality control engineer. Rod enjoyed riding with the Christian Motorcyclists Association. He volunteered his talents of singing and playing his keyboard at nursing homes. Rod was a man of deep faith, devoted to Jesus and his family.
Calling hours will be Saturday, July 17th 9:30 to 11:00 am at Spencerport Wesleyan Church, 2653 Nichols Street. Rod’s Celebration of Life will directly follow at the church at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Research Foundation, www.parkinsonhope.org/ways-donate or Holt International Children’s Services, 250 Country Club Rd., Eugene, Oregon 97401 in Rod’s memory.
