Webster – Giannoula “Jenny” Kokkoris passed away peacefully at home on October 15, 2021. Born in Sparta, Greece, she emigrated to Montreal, Canada in 1957, married, had 2 sons, and then emigrated to Rochester in 1966. She became a naturalized US citizen in 1972. She survived the Great Depression, World War 2, famine, Greek Civil War and two bouts with cancer. She was a tireless and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to sew and bake, and hosted countless gatherings of family and friends for all occasions. Jenny was a skilled seamstress and worked for many local clothing companies. She is predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Georgios and sister, Maria. She is survived by her sons, Christopher and Steven (Ann); twin sister, Fotini; brother Nick; and grandchildren, Nolan, Giannette, and Julia.
Family and friends may call at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Spirit, 835 South Ave. from 10:30-11:00am on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, followed by a funeral service at 11am at the church. Interment, Grove Place Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Church of the Holy Spirit, 835 South Ave, Rochester, NY 14620.
