Chili – Mark Wayne Becker, beloved uncle of Barb Smith and Lynn Springle, passed peacefully in his home on Sunday, November 7, 2021, age 77. Mark attended St. Johnsbury Academy, Vermont, and then joined the Navy, where he served as a radio man in the Vietnam War. Retired after a lifetime of highly varied jobs, Mark was also a passionate supporter and long-time volunteer at WXXI.
Mark was predeceased by his beloved sister, Lois Smith and parents, Melvin and Viola. In addition to his nieces, he is survived by nephew, David Smith (Jenni), nephew, Bruce Smith (Tami), and great-nieces, Sarah Smith, Emma Smith and Brianna Smith. In honor of Mark’s wishes, no service will be held. Memorials may be made to WXXI or the IPF Foundation.
