Eileen U. Wohlers, age 88, of Brockport, New York peacefully passed away on June 5, 2022 surrounded by members of her family. Predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Bruce N. Wohlers and her daughter, Donna DeFilipps (John). She is survived by her children, Carol Shatraw (Joseph), Krista Laureno (Kenneth), Eric Wohlers (Cheryl) and Lisa Fiorito (Richard); 8 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
Eileen grew up in Greece, New York as an only child and graduated from Hilton High School where she made several life-long friends. She met her future husband at a dance and they were married shortly thereafter. Throughout their lives, ballroom and square dancing remained sources of their mutual joy. Bruce and Eileen settled in Clarendon, New York and soon opened the Wohlers Grocery Store. They later purchased a feed store nearby and built a building for the US Postal Service. Their businesses led them to become active members of the Clarendon Historical Society. Eileen was also an active member of Concordia Lutheran Church as well as the GBU and German-American clubs in Rochester, New York and Naples, Florida. A life-long Yankees fan, she enjoyed watching all types of sports, and was especially fond of playing cards with her friends and family.
A Celebration of Eileen’s Life will be held at 3 pm, July 9, 2022, at Hope Church, Brockport, NY.
