Kenneth Paul Weitzel
Kenneth Paul Weitzel passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 25, 2022 with his family by his side, succumbing to the cancer he was diagnosed with in December 2021. Ken is survived by his wife, Michelle; children, Joshua, Ryan, Cheyanne, Aaron (Kira), and Mackenzie; granddaughter, Ariyah; Sister, Susan Goehring (David), his nephews, cousins, Aunts, God children, and many, many friends that Ken loved and considered family. Ken is predeceased by his parents, Kenneth W. and Joan M. Weitzel.
Ken has been described as “Life of the party” and “Bigger than Life” by his friends. Ken was a passionate husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, Godfather, and friend. Ken had a deep admiration for animals and held pets in his heart as if they were kin. Ken had an incredible passion and zeal for life. Ken was a loyal Dallas Cowboy fan; no matter what, win or lose, he loved his “Boys”. Ken was witty and charming; he was an impressive conversationalist and always up for a good debate. Ken had a warm and generous heart; he would give the shirt off his back for anyone and would often perform random acts of kindness in his community. Ken had a unique sense of humor and had a “dad joke” for every occasion. Ken’s beautiful singing voice captured Michelle’s heart when they met; his passion for music lives on through his children. A quote from one of Ken’s favorite movies, Albert Finney’s Scrooge, reads “There is never enough time to do or say all the things that we would wish. The thing is to try to do as much as you can in the time that you have. Remember, time is too short, and suddenly, you’re not here anymore.”
A Memorial Service will be held at Hope Church, 1301 Vintage Lane, Rochester, NY on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 11am.
