Predeceased by her parents, Carolyn R. (Yoggy) and Ronald James “Jim” Makely, Sr. Survived by her brother, Ron; nephews, R.J. (Bridget) and William (Lauren); great-nephews, Will and Weston. Privileged to be called her stepmom, Darlene Jacobs.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Jewish Home for all their love, care, and support over the many years Karen lived there. Special thanks to her Honorary “Sis” Wanda Osborn and Rebecca Wilk, who have been with her every step of her journey at the Jewish Senior Life Center.
Her passion for art and music was developed and enhanced while at JSL. Her favorite musical artists were Barry Manilow and the Carpenters. Also, would like to thank the numerous providers and staff at Strong Memorial Hospital (MICU and NICU) for your actions, and comforting words and for making the transition easier for Karen.
