Passed away at age 81 from complications associated with pancreatic cancer on January 15th, 2023.
Laila is survived by her husband, Edward Smith; brothers, Robert (Carolyn) Palo and William Palo; children and their spouses, Roy (Carey) Smith, Deborah (Giles) Baker, Doreen (Carl) Young, and Daniel (Anna) Smith; grandchildren, Kyle (Nikki) Yadon-Smith, Kristin Smith, Brian Smith, Anna Baker, Benjamin Baker, Christopher Baker, Carson Young, Evan Young, Sara Smith, Lana Smith, and her nieces and nephew.
