Friday, May 12, 2023 at age 86.
Predeceased by his parents, Eugene and Caroline (Derleth) Sauer; siblings, Robert Glaser, Carl, John and James Sauer, Rosemary Lindner and Dorothy Corrigan; and brother-in-law, Frederick Mertz. Survived by his wife, Gloria; children, Donald Jr. and Eileen (Chris) McLaughlin; grandchildren, Katharine, Christine and Caroline; siblings, Eugene (Abby), Gerry (Pamela), Susan Flagg and Shirley Vetere; and several nieces, nephews and dear friends. Don, “One Call”, was a Rochester City Fireman for 32 years.

Family and friends may call Monday 11am-1pm at the Leo M. Bean and Sons Funeral Home. Funeral Service to follow at 1pm at the funeral home. Interment, Grove Place Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the School of the Holy Childhood or a charity of one’s choice.
