Charles Lambert Brehse

Charles L. Brehse, 78, formerly of Hamlin, NY, passed away on June 20th in Des Moines, IA.

He was a graduate of Kendall Central School and Michigan State University. He and his wife, Pat, built a beautiful life together in Carlisle, Iowa, where he worked as a farm machinery representative for New Holland Equipment for 34 years.

Family, travel, church, golf, and his cars were the cornerstones of Chuck’s life. He took great pride in maintaining a manicured lawn, a clean garage, and spotless cars. Chuck’s love for music was evident as he enjoyed listening to quartets and singing in the Men’s Choir at church. His enthusiasm for life was contagious.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia; son, Kenneth Brehse; daughter, Deborah (Clint) Smalley; grandchildren, Connor, Cameron, Cael, and Carter Smalley; sister Kathleen (Kevin) Noon; and sister-in-law Sandra Brehse, along with nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Franklin Brehse; mother, Ardeen Brehse; daughter, Tricia Brehse; and brother, Robert Brehse.

His funeral was held at the Carlisle United Methodist Church, 405 School Street, Carlisle, Iowa, 50047 on Tuesday, June 27.
