Rochester – Louise passed away peacefully on December 24, 2023 after a long illness.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Stephen E. French Sr., her sister Carolyn Salisbury, her children Stephen Jr. (Joanne), Karen Cox (Daryl), Martha Herold (Eugene), her grandchildren Lauren Eckelman (Collin), Emily, Keith (Halley), Kate Holtby (Matthew), Danielle, Rebecca Peacock (Kyle), John, Sarah and her great-granddaughter Maxwell Eckelman.
Louise was kind to everyone, and she worked hard to make the world a better place to live in. She was curious and a lifelong learner. She was a longtime member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church and volunteered as an usher for the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and Blackfriars Theater. She was a good and firm mother, a wonderful grandmother and she was a fixture at her children’s and grandchildren’s concerts and sporting events.
No calling hours are planned. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to Foodlink or a charity of your choice.
