Passed away peacefully at the age of 97 on February 29, 2024.
She is predeceased by her parents, Antonio and Lucia D’Alessandro; her beloved husband, Salvatore Mario; her brothers, Luigi and Mario. She is survived by her brother, Angelo; sisters-in-law; as well as many nephews and nieces in Italy, Switzerland, and the USA. She also leaves behind her dear friends Gennaro and Anna.
Maria was born in Vallemaio, Italy. She moved to the USA in 1955 where she met the love of her life, Mario. She was employed as a tailor, then worked at St Mary’s Hospital, and retired from Kodak. She was an avid gardener, loved to sew, and enjoyed daily walks around her village.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 7th, from 4:00-6:15PM, with funeral service to follow at Walker Brothers Funeral Home (21 S Main St, Churchville, NY 14428). Maria will be laid to rest on Friday, March 8th, at 11:00AM in Resurrection Garden Mausoleum at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery (2461 Lake Ave, Rochester, NY 14612).
