Eva Mae Kemblowski
Eva Mae Kemblowski passed away peacefully on January 24, 2025, in Haverhill MA at the age of 90. Born on August 18, 1934, Eva grew up on Union Street near Casey Park in Auburn NY. She went to East High school and was first chair violin in the high school orchestra. Post high school Eva attended nursing school in NYC on Welfare Island at Metropolitan Hospital.
Upon graduation Eva worked at Auburn Memorial Hospital as a Registered Nurse.
She later met her husband Lawrence, married and moved to California where they had their first 4 of 6 children.
The family returned to the Rochester area in 1965. Eva resumed her nursing career in the late 70’s and became the Assistant Director of Nursing at Wedgwood Nursing Home. She later advanced her career to that of Director of Nursing at Lakeside Beikirch nursing home where she remained until she retired many years later.
Upon retiring, Eva enjoyed being an avid reader, visiting her family and friends, watching Hallmark movies, ice skating on TV, and the nightly news with David Muir.
She loved watching basketball games, especially college or her favorite team, the Boston Celtics. She even attended a few games at the Boston Garden. Eva enjoyed attending concerts, parties, listening to music, vacations and the New England states. She moved to Massachusetts in 2019 to spend the rest of her years enjoying the lifestyle of New England with her daughter.
Eva remained active and happy right up until the last days of her life.
She will be remembered for her unwavering faith in God, love of her family and friends as well as her beautiful sense of humor.
Eva is predeceased by her husband Lawrence, parents, Lee and Helen Moe and brother David (Mary Flanagan) Moe.
She is survived by her six children, David (Tammy Beaney), Anne, Liz (Diane DiBartolo), Peter (Brooke), Margaret Ferris, Paul (Shelly), eleven grandchildren, Shannon, Lucas, Victoria, Calvin (Karina), Patrick (Megan), Allison (Reid), Lauren, Grace, Henry, Jacob and Maxine and five great-grandchildren, Juliana, Jena, Lily, Calvin Jr and Blaire. Eva is also survived by her two nephews William (Susan) Stephenson and Michael (Cheryl) Stephenson.
Calling hours are Friday, January 31st from 3pm to 7pm at Fowler Funeral Home in Brockport, NY. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 1st at 1pm at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, located in Brockport.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Eva’s memory to the American Heart Association.
