After graduating from West High, Class of 1947, he was employed by DuPont on Driving Park Blvd, eventually becoming a foreman. He also enlisted in the Naval Reserves, advancing to the position of Chief Quartermaster.
Win’s outlook on life was one of optimism, humor, and a love for adventure. He shared this view through family activities that included camping, boating, ice skating, skiing, bicycling, and many travel experiences. After retirement, his adventures included annual winter trips with Dorothy to Key West Naval base, with many stops along the way to visit friends and family. He enjoyed downhill skiing until age 90 and riding his bike from Churchville to and from Silver Lake each year until he was 94. In his less active years, you would find Win riding his lawn tractor or resting with a cat on his lap. He was interested in family genealogy, foreign languages, and loved chatting to people he met along the way. Win believed in living life to the fullest.
