James W. Alderson

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend – passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior after a long and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family. He was predeceased by his father, James; mother, Joan; and stepfather, George.
Jim is survived by his devoted wife, Janice M. Alderson; his children, James (TuLee) Alderson, Christopher (Michelle) Hyde, Erik (Rebecca) Hyde, and Krystal (Dave) Alderson; and his treasured grandchildren, Jaysn, Olivia, Patrick, Janzen, Lilianna, Kayley, Colin, Vivienna, Beckham, Zackary, and David; loving in-laws and cousins.
A loving and adventurous soul, Jim believed life was meant to be lived to the fullest. A gifted storyteller, he loved to travel and gather friends and family for laughter, fellowship, and unforgettable moments. His deep faith inspired him to share his testimony and encourage others in their walk with the Lord.
Jim also had an unmatched fondness for conspiracy theories and a legendary collection of truly terrible dad jokes. Family vacations often felt straight out of a Griswold movie-and he wouldn’t have had it any other way. He loved the outdoors and proudly owned more “toys” than his children combined, knowing those toys would keep his family close, entertained, and making memories together.
He was a man who never truly grew up, and that was one of his greatest gifts. His humor, big heart, and joyful spirit will be missed by all who knew him-especially “Girlface,” who will forever miss her “Stink.”
Calling hours will be held at Walker Brothers Funeral Home (15 West Ave., Spencerport) on Wednesday, August 13, from 4-7 p.m. Burial will be private. A Celebration of Jim’s Life will take place at First Bible Baptist Church (990 Manitou Rd., Hilton) on Friday, August 15, at 6 p.m.
