BROCKPORT: Buddle, Wilson F., of Highview Circle in Brockport, passed away at the age of 88, surrounded by family, after a lengthy and well-fulfilled life. He is survived by three daughters, Cindy (Peter) Hare of Brockport, Wendy (David) Ebersole of Caledonia, and Debby Maar of Hamlin; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a younger brother, the Rev. Dr. Duane D. Buddle. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 ½ years, Joan; his parents, Thomas and Ida Buddle; and two brothers, the Rev. Donald T. Buddle and William S. Buddle.

He arrived in Brockport in 1971, where he served the Brockport School District as the A.D. Oliver Middle School Principal for 21 years until his retirement in 1992. After his retirement in New York, he worked at the New Milford School District in New Milford, PA, for another four years as a middle school principal. Buddle was very active in the National Association of Secondary School Principals. Both he and his wife were fortunate to travel to many foreign lands and visit American embassies and both the American schools and International Schools located therein. They visited England, Scotland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Austria, Hungary, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Australia, and New Zealand.
Buddle was a Mason and belonged to the Hesperus Lodge #837 in Bergen and served as Patron of Mary Jane Holmes #440 of the Eastern Star in Brockport for several years. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Brockport.
HILTON: Osborn, Helen June Meek, died on March 29, 2026, at age 102. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Nelle (Hall) Meek; brother, Jennings Meek and his wife, Gladys Meek; and former husband, Loren G. Osborn. She is survived by three children and their spouses, David G. (E-Ching) Osborn, Lance G. (Susan) Osborn, and Lori O. (Walter) Steenson; four grandchildren, Derek G. Osborn, Kristin J. (Brian) O’Connor, Christopher M. (Alexa) Steenson, and Robin L. (Clark) Steenson; and five great-grandchildren. Upon moving to Hilton, to be near her daughter, Lori, and family, Helen quickly made many new friends through her gym classes and the senior center, going on trips and generally keeping busy. She volunteered at the Hilton Clothing Closet for many years and was a faithful attendee of Hilton Baptist Church, where her son-in-law was pastor. Her nickname was the “Energizer Bunny,” for she liked to keep moving. An avid reader, Helen loved murder mysteries and was always on the lookout for new authors to enjoy. Crossword puzzles, yard sales, jigsaw puzzles, cooking and baking, sewing, and music (especially Dixieland Jazz) were all activities that she enjoyed.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Hilton Baptist Church, 50 Lake Avenue, Hilton, followed by a Memorial Service at 2 p.m. with a reception afterward. HILTON: Prince, William P. “Bill,” died April 1, 2026, at age 80. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Kathleen; children, Todd (Gina) Prince, Troy (Bonnie) Prince, and Corey (Tricia) Prince; grandchildren, Nicholas (Caitlin) Prince, Gabby (Scott) Clough, Preston Prince, and Payden Prince; great-granddaughter, Penelope; siblings, Ronald (Linda) Prince, Donald (Linda) Prince, and Patricia Mullins; sisters-in-law, Marsha Prince, Nadine (Don) Lacroix, and Karen Streb; brother-in-law, Al Campbell; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including Donald and Margaret Gibbs and family. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Edith Prince; siblings, Gloria (James) Mosher, Gerald (Rachel) Prince, Alan Prince, Richard Prince, Nancy Abbott, Betty Lou (JR) Groves, and Judy Prince; and brothers-in-law, John Mullins and George Streb. Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Following his service, he became the owner of an Atlantic Service Station in Brockport. He built a strong work ethic at Tri-Steel Construction as an iron worker and later as a millwright for Rochester Products and Associated Textile and Rental as the plant mechanic. He loved the outdoors, taking special pride in maintaining his yard and embracing nature whenever he could. Bill enjoyed fishing and hunting turkeys. He was a devoted Buffalo Bills fan and a “jack of all trades,” fixing cars to household items.
Bill’s Memorial Service was held on April 7 at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Inc., in Hilton. Interment at the convenience of the family. HOLLEY: Stratton, David, age 63, died April 6, 2026, following a long illness. He was born on June 11, 1962, in Brockport, a son of Earl and Lavonne (Carter) Stratton, and lived in this area his entire life. He is survived by his daughter, Emma VanWuyckhuyse of Brockport; brothers, Duane Stratton of NC, Darrin (Heather) Stratton of Spencerport, and Daryl Stratton of NC; as well as several nieces and nephews. David liked classic cars and motorcycles, and, as a very outgoing person, he enjoyed socializing with anyone he met.
David’s Celebration of Life was held on April 10 at Christ Chapel Wesleyan Church in Hamlin. KENDALL MILLS: Doty, William A. “Bill,” died March 29, 2026, at age 91. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Madge “Dilli” Doty; children, Debbie (Ken) Gursslin, Laurie (Dale) Hansen, Steve (Kathy) Doty, Mark (Kim) Doty, Daniel (Sandra) Doty, and Beth (Brian) Weeden; grandchildren, Joe, Nick, Mark, Tarah, Ashley, Holly, Rocky, Chelsea, Jake, Alex, Gabe, Fabian, Sara, and Hannah; 26 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Elsie Doty, and siblings, Joan, Ruth, and Bob. An Air Force veteran, he served in the Korean War as a radar specialist. Bill retired from Eastman Kodak Company as an engineer. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing fastpitch softball with the Kodak Miniacs, golfing, and serving on the Kendall Central School Board of Education for several years. Bill loved to sing in his church choir and especially with the Sweden Seniors Singers.

OGDEN: Calvete, Janice, died March 29, 2026, at age 76. She was predeceased by her parents, Archie and Audrey (Olsen) Campbell, and parents-in-law, Michael and Elsie (Resue) Calvete. She is survived by her loving husband and caregiver, Michael (Mick) Calvete; sons, Jeffrey Wager (partner Kristen Devito) and Michael; daughter, Sofia; sister, Jean Campbell; brother, John (Andree) Campbell; brother-in-law, Thomas (Linda) Calvete; sister-in-law, Susan (late Samuel) Miller; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Jan was a graduate of Ogdensburg Free Academy (Class of 1967) and Potsdam State (Class of 1971). She worked as the head teller for First Federal Bank. She was also a teacher’s aide at BOCES 2 for 16 years. Jan was an avid reader and a lover of film, television, music, concerts, and trivia, who also attended a multitude of youth and professional sporting events. She also enjoyed travel, Jazzercise, and volunteer work.

SPENCERPORT: Hugelmaier, Gerald “Yogi,” born January 12, 1941, died on April 3, 2026. Jerry was predeceased by his parents, Marion and Earl Hugelmaier, and his in-laws, Gerry and Mark Ammering. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathie Hugelmaier; daughter, Lisa Hugelmaier; son, Brian (Kerri) Hugelmaier; granddaughters, Harper and Camryn Hugelmaier; and his beloved dog, Tasha. Jerry owned his own cash crop farm and grew corn, beans, and wheat, mostly in the towns of Ogden, Churchville, and Bergen. His love of farming started at a young age, with his father on their family farm on Latta Road in Greece and on Manitou Road in Spencerport. Farming was not a job to Jerry; it was a passion and a duty. After he sold the farm in 2001, Jerry worked at the Town of Odgen, mowing the roadside until 2024. He was a life member of the Spencerport Fire Department, where he was affectionately given the nickname “Yogi.” He was a past chief and also served as a fire commissioner for the fire district. He also competed on the department’s drill team, the Red Onions, and served as the driver of the team’s tournament trucks.

SPENCERPORT: Ziegler, Beverly J., age 88, died March 25, 2026. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Georgia Januszka (Lewis); brother, Francis “Butch” Januszka; and sister-in-law, Hilda Sokolosky (Ziegler). She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Heinz Ziegler; daughter, Stephanie (Michael) Ziegler; and grandchildren, Ash Chiumento and Sydney Chiumento. She worked for New York State, where she spent her entire career in various positions until her retirement after 37 years of service. In 2005, she and Heinz sold their home of 40 years and moved from Syracuse to Rochester to be closer to her family. Bev was also a devout Catholic and was proud to be a Franciscan Associate of the Sisters of St. Francis Neumann Communities. It was through her church in Syracuse that Bev met her two dearest friends, Stasia and Joe Blackham.
Her Funeral Mass was held on April 10 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Spencerport.
