AREA: Garrett, Diana L., of Greece, died September 7, 2026, at age 65. She was predeceased by her father, William Masten. Diana is survived by her loving husband, Robert Garrett; mother, Shelbie Masten; brother, William Masten; and sister, Jeanette. Diana had a deep appreciation for poetry and enjoyed the beauty and meaning found in words. She will be remembered for the love she shared with her family, her strong faith, and the simple joys she treasured throughout her life.

BROCKPORT: Bowers, Minnie Mae, died September 3, 2026, at age 77. She was born September 15, 1948, in Camden, Alabama. Minnie was predeceased by her parents, Tom and Mary Ann Dortch; spouse, Carlzlee Bowers; daughter, Ruthann Bowers; siblings, Tom, Wiley, and James Dortch. She is survived by her sons, Roddie Lee Dortch of Rochester and Gregory Fitzgerald Dortch of Richmond, VA; daughter, Wendy Lanette Dorsey (Terrence Dorsey Sr.) of Rock Hill, SC; sister, Sarah Quarker of Rochester; sister-in-law, Ruby Clark of Rochester; aunt, Janice Dortch of Mobile, Alabama; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and great friends, including her church family. Minnie worked as a production worker for several years, as a CNA (certified nursing assistant), and obtained her CDL and drove for RTS for 20-plus years until she retired. Minnie was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Kendall Mills for 50-plus years. Minnie enjoyed fishing, playing card games, casino trips with her friends, traveling, family events, watching westerns and game shows, and talking on the phone daily with her friends Thelma Berry, Louise Richardson, Vernice Dailey, Martha Gilchrist, and Betty Johnson. She enjoyed watching her favorite team, the Buffalo Bills, play football. She was thrilled to find out that her grandson, #19 Gregory Dortch, gave her the gift of being part of her #1 team.

BROCKPORT: Eichas, Gary J. Sr., died September 7, 2026, at age 71. He was predeceased by his parents, Jude and Evelyn; sister, Kris Valla; brother-in-law, Timothy Derleth; and other extended Eichas family members. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Stephanie; son, Gary Jr.; siblings, Gail (John) Kettles, Wayne (Janet) Eichas, Jude (Cherry Mee) Eichas, Michele (Dave) Newman, Michael (John) Rhinehart, Mary Lee Derleth, and Adam (Christy) Kenny; and many nieces and nephews. Gary was very gifted at making, building, and fixing various items, even at a young age. He loved birds, sports, and collecting sports memorabilia. He was a mason by trade and a perfectionist when it came to his work. There was no need to advertise as his business grew by word of mouth.
A Memorial Service celebrating Gary’s life will be held on Saturday, October 24, at 2 p.m. at Living Hope Assembly of God of Hamlin, 2168 Roosevelt Highway, Hilton. Arrangements entrusted to Fowler Funeral Home Inc., Brockport.
BROCKPORT: Mami-Green, Irene Dolores, died September 10, 2026, at age 79. She was born May 7, 1947, in Long Branch, NJ, to Claire and Leon Boeckel Jr. Irene was predeceased by her parents; brother, Leon III; and her loving husband, Robert G. Green Jr. She is survived by her sister, Gloria (Fred Sheetz); children, Tony Mami (Hunter), Leah Curran (Patrick), Gloria Mami Lynch (Shawn), Michael Green, Kimberlee Ferreira, Danielle Green, Robert Green III (Millie), and Francis Mami (Rachel); 27 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Everyone loved Irene for her hard-working, caring nature. She started out helping her first husband, Carl, manage multiple gas station/repair shops while also working as a waitress. She was an Avon District Manager for 30 years. She enjoyed knitting in her spare time.
A Funeral Mass was held September 16 at The Church of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Brockport. Interment was September 17 in Margaretville Cemetery. Contributions can be made in her memory to one’s local ASPCA or Lollypop Farm Humane Society of Greater Rochester.
HOLLEY: Pinckney, Forrest “Buck,” age 66, died September 14, 2026. He was born September 9, 1960, in Lyons, NY, a son of the late Richard and Amelia Pinckney. He is survived by his wife, Susan; children, Charles (Veronica), David (Crystal), William, Michael, Andrea (Chuck), and Chris (Heather); grandchildren, Charles, Jonathan, Jeremias, Bradley, and Justin; siblings, Eve (Bob) Spike, Sue Rice, Patty Pinckney Comstock, Donna (Scott) Pinckney, and Rick (Donna) Pinckney; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Buck was a member of Local 22 United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers, and Allied Workers for 25 years

SPENCERPORT: Ville, Joanne Carol, known affectionately to many as Jo, passed away on September 9, 2026. She was 90 years old. Born on May 16, 1936, in Buffalo, New York, Joanne was the daughter of Frank and Beatrice Montemaggi. Over the course of her life, she became known for the qualities that defined her most deeply: kindness, generosity, and an unwavering devotion to her family. Those who knew her remember a woman whose warmth extended naturally to everyone she met. Joanne treasured the simple pleasures that brought people together. She loved camping at Allegany State Park, where the outdoors offered peace and lasting memories. An avid reader, she found comfort and joy in the written word. When she was able, she gave freely of her time, volunteering for various community activities and lending her hands wherever they were needed. A lifelong member of Ogden Presbyterian Church, Joanne cherished her church community and the fellowship it provided. Her faith was a steady presence throughout her life, and she remained closely connected to her congregation, serving and supporting it whenever she could. That community, in turn, offered her comfort and companionship over many years.
Joanne is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Ville, and her son, Brian Ville; her sister, Linda Montemaggi, and her brother, Lewis Montemaggi; her grandchildren, Jeremy Ville, Joseph Ville (Angela), Nathan Batzold, and her great-grandchild, Ethan. She leaves behind a family shaped by her love and steadfast example. She was preceded in death by her son, Marc Ville, as well as her mother, Beatrice Montemaggi, and her father, Frank Montemaggi. Their memory now joins with hers, and the family finds solace in the promise of reunion and eternal rest.
Service details will be determined by the family at a later date. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Ogden Presbyterian Church for the support and kindness shown to Joanne and her loved ones, and to Lynne and Dave Johnson for their incredible love and support. Her generous spirit, her devotion to family, and her gentle presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in the peace of the Lord she faithfully served.
