Obituaries for October 2, 2026

HILTON: Zambito, Roxanne Marie, born May 21, 1946, in Rochester, died September 21, 2026, at age 80. Roxanne is survived by her loving husband of over 50 years, Michael J. Zambito; children, Michael Zambito (Stacey), Alicia Zambito (Thomas); three grandchildren, Ian, Cici, and Samantha; three brothers; and numerous nieces and nephews. She attended Hilton United Methodist Church for many years. Roxanne loved helping others and had a long career of service. While working, she met many wonderful people who would become friends for life. After retirement, Roxanne joined Naiades Oncology Rowing (ROCCREW), which became a source of joy and strength after her initial battle with cancer. Rowing nourished her body and soul, and she was forever grateful to be part of the team.

Funeral Services will be held October 13 at 11 a.m. at Hilton United Methodist Church, 21 West Avenue, Hilton, with a luncheon to follow. Private interment at White Haven Memorial Park. Contributions in her memory can be made to Mt. Carmel House, Hilton United Methodist Church, ROCCREW, or the charity of one’s choice. Arrangements entrusted to Fowler Funeral Home Inc., Brockport.

SPENCERPORT: Conlon, Russell P., died September 18, 2026, at age 75. He was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Joyce Conlon. He is survived by his children, Sean (Sarah) Conlon and Brian (Sara) Conlon; grandchildren, Kieran, Leo, Zelda, and Daisy Conlon; sisters, Marsha (Robert) Thomas, Lois (Robert) Stefaniak, Barbara (Eric) Dunn; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Ancient Order of the Hibernians (AOH), where he donated his time to charitable causes and used his rich baritone voice to perform the Irish and American National Anthems for the Rochester Red Wings and Barry’s Irish Festival. As a softball player, he had a five-decade career in the Rochester area, beginning with his time with the Harp’s Club in Batavia and ending as a commissioner of Rochester Senior Softball. His playing career was highlighted by posting multiple shutouts as a pitcher at age 60, leading a team of fathers and sons (including his own) to consecutive league championships. His career was capped with his induction into the Rochester Softball Hall of Fame in 2023.

Friends and family may call on Saturday, October 3, from 10 a.m. to noon at Leo M. Bean and Sons Funeral Home, 2771 Chili Avenue. A Service will follow at noon at the Funeral Home. Donations in his memory can be made to Jazz 90.1 (his favorite station) or The Ronald McDonald House of Rochester (where he often donated his time). 

HILTON:  Kluth, Richard W. “Dick,” age 87, died September 25, 2026. Dick is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Hauser Kluth; children, Sue (Kevin) Lewis, Debbie Kluth, and Rick (Rachel) Kluth Jr.; brother-in-law, Richard Allen; grandchildren, Ashley, TJ (Cassie), Cameron, and Tyler; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Viola Strussenberg Kluth, and sister, Ruth Allen. Dick was a carpenter by trade and a member of the Carpenters Union. He was a member of FFA (Future Farmers of America) and devoted his entire life to working on his family farm on Wilder Road, a place that was an important part of his life and his family’s history. Dick had a lifelong passion for auto racing. His dedication to the sport and the racing community continued throughout the years, and he was inducted into the Hall of Fame for the Friends of Auto Racing Club (F.O.A.R.). He was also a member of CARB Kings, a Hilton Auto Club.

His Funeral Service was held Friday, October 2, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hilton. Interment at Parma Union Cemetery. Contributions in Dick’s memory can be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 158 East Avenue, Hilton, NY 14468; F.O.A.R., Friends of Auto Racing Club, PO Box 261, Bowmansville, NY 14026; Victory Junction, 4500 Adam’s Way, Randleman, NC 27317; or a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements entrusted to the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Hilton.

AREA: Larson, Karin Purcell, age 75, died September 28, 2026. She is survived by her siblings, Gail Frahm (Robert) of West Hartford, CT, Joan Jakubowski of Churchville, and Thomas Purcell (Tracey) of West Allis, WI; nieces and nephews, Joel Frahm, Julie Frahm, Kelly Jakubowski (Steven Lyons), Kyle Jakubowski (Aimé Tudor), and Jacob Purcell; and grandniece and grandnephew, Isabella and Roman Jakubowski Lyons. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Angline Purcell; husband, Stephen Larson; brother-in-law, Edward Jakubowski; and her beloved pet dogs, Buster and Henry. She was born in Madison, WI, and briefly attended UW-Madison before embarking on a career in real estate photography. She lived most of her adult life in California before moving to upstate New York with her husband, Steve, to be near family. 

A private Memorial Service is planned for a future date. Arrangements entrusted to Walker Brothers Funeral Home, Spencerport.
