BCSD Homecoming Parade October 4

Streams of blue and white will be seen throughout the village streets on Friday, October 4 during Brockport Central School’s homecoming parade.
The parade begins at the intersection of College Street and Utica Street at 5:30 p.m., traveling south on Utica Street to Adams Street and turning onto Allen Street. The parade will conclude at the High School prior to the 7:15 p.m. football game against Greece Athena at Dahn Walrath Stadium.
The Brockport Homecoming Committee chairpersons Amanda Stroh and Jessica Emmerson, Senior Class President Sophia Avery, student council, administration and class advisors are working to make this second annual Homecoming Parade a success. The parade tradition was brought back last year after more than a decade.
High school classes are decorating their floats, which will be judged by a panel of community members. The winning class will be announced during half-time of the football game. Themes for this year’s class floats include: freshman – Comedy Central; sophomores – Cartoon Network; juniors – ESPN; and seniors – Disney Channel.
“The parade is such a wonderful event that brings the entire community together,” said High School Principal Dr. Dana Boshnack. “I enjoy watching the camaraderie as parents, students, and teachers work after school and on weekends to construct floats. Alumni are sharing their school pride and excitement with current students by constructing their own floats. We are so thankful to our village and police department for supporting our parade!”
To enter a float or become a parade sponsor, look for forms posted on the high school web page at www.bcs1.org. Registrations are due by September 25.
Parking will be available throughout the village and on the district campus. Due to the shortened parade route this year, shuttle service from the high school to the  village will not be provided.
