Churchville-Chili Superintendent to retire in June
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Pamela Kissel has announced her plans for retirement from the Churchville-Chili Central School District effective June 30, 2014 following a seven-year tenure as superintendent and a 35-year career in education.
Dr. Kissel is a 1969 graduate of Churchville-Chili and sees it fitting that she ends her career here.
“I have one of those lives where it really is full circle,” said Dr. Kissel. “I started my education here, graduated from here and at the end of my career was able to come back and serve the community that served me. It has been an honor to live and work in such a caring community.”
Before coming to Churchville-Chili in 2007, Dr. Kissel served as Assistant Superintendent of Instruction for Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES in Spencerport. She began her career in education as an English teacher before transitioning into administration.
During her time at Churchville-Chili, she has overseen multiple successful school budgets and capital improvements projects that focus on both the needs of the district and those of the taxpayers, she navigated the district through Common Core Curriculum Implementation and APPR changes, and continues to focus on equity and access for all students, making sure that every student has every opportunity to be successful.
The Churchville-Chili School Board will formally appoint BOCES 2 District Superintendent Jo Anne L. Antonacci as search consultant at its next meeting on Tuesday, October 22. She will assist the Board of Education with the search process. More information on this process will be forthcoming including how the community will be involved.
