BOCES 2 WEMOCO students to host Skills Night

The community is invited to the BOCES 2 WEMOCO Skills Night on Thursday, November 14 from 3 to 7 p.m. at 3589 Big Ridge Road. Skills Night is an opportunity for the WEMOCO students to perform services for the community. All donations will be used to support the WEMOCO SkillsUSA chapter and students attending competitions at the local, state, national and international level in their field of study. Approximately 1,000 students from the nine component school districts attend BOCES 2 WEMOCO completing coursework in 27 fields of study.

The following services are available for the suggested donation: dinner (take-out or eat-in) for $6 created by culinary students; bakery items at various prices created by bakery students; car wash by automotive tech students for $5; car wash and wax by automotive tech students for $20; manicures by cosmetology students for $5 and pedicures by cosmetology students for $10. WEMOCO students in commercial art will create air-brushed t-shirts for $7; carpentry students are making picnic tables both small and large; welding students will be fabricating metal art of sports logos and welcome signs.

Appointments are necessary for cosmetology services and automotive tech services. Call 352-2471 for an appointment between 3 and 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14. Families are welcome to attend.
