Two Spencerport High School musicians have been selected to the New York State School Music Associations’ All State Ensembles.
Senior Matthew Miller, the son of Brian and Sigrun Miller, has been selected to play French horn in the All State Orchestra. He is a member of the Spencerport High School Wind Ensemble and plays keyboard for the Jazz Band and Percussion Ensemble. Matt is also a member of the Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. This is the second time that he has been selected for an All State Conference Ensemble.
Sara Park, a senior, has been selected as an Alto II in the All State Women’s Chorus. She sings in Spencerport’s Concert Choir, Vocal Jazz Ensemble, and Treble Choir. She is the daughter of K.T. and June Park.
The students were chosen from thousands of students who auditioned for this honor last spring at Solo and Ensemble Festivals throughout the State.
The students will perform as a part of the All State Ensemble during the (NYSSMA) winter conference which will be held December 5 through 8 in Rochester. The All State Orchestra and Women’s Choir performed in the Eastman Theatre on December 7.
