Gates Chili School Board names new superintendent
The Gates Chili Board of Education has selected Kimberle Ward as superintendent of the Gates Chili Central School District. Ward was formally appointed to the position at the Board of Education meeting December 10. She will begin in Gates Chili in early February.
“The Board is impressed with Kimberle’s energy, passion and leadership skills,” said Board President Lowell Benjamin. “We are very much looking forward to her engagement with the Gates Chili community with a focus on student achievement and instructional excellence.”
Ward has served as the Superintendent of the Naples Central School District since July 2009. Prior to that, she was a principal in the Union Springs Central School District and an Assistant Principal in the Corning-Painted Post Area School District. Ward began her education career in 1989, and worked as a teacher in Brighton, Marcus Whitman, Newark and Wayland before moving into administrative roles.
“I am excited to continue Gates Chili’s tradition of inspiring students to engage in their learning the Spartan Way: Respect, Responsibility, Compassion and Hard Work,” said Ward. “The district motto of teaching and inspiring excellence for all learners will be my focus in all efforts for the community.”
The Board worked with Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES District Superintendent and Search Consultant Jo Anne L. Antonacci through the search process.
