New Hilton High School assistant principal appointed
Marc D’Amico recently was appointed assistant principal at Hilton High School replacing Dr. Michael Zaffuts, who accepted the position of Hilton’s technology director.
D’Amico’s teaching career began at Charlotte High School. He joined the Hilton School District in 2005 providing Academic Intervention Services at Merton Williams Middle School for the first two years, then joined the staff at Hilton High School as an English teacher. After spending a year in Chicago, D’Amico returned to Hilton High School last year to teach ninth and tenth grade English, supervise the out-of-school suspension center and serve as an administrative intern.
The Churchville-Chili graduate earned a bachelor of arts degree in English from SUNY Geneseo and a master’s in education from the University at Buffalo.
In addition to serving as assistant principal, D’Amico will continue to work with the improvisational comedy group Tuesday Night Live, which he helped to form eight years ago, and the district’s Fitness and Wellness Committee. He said he also hopes to have time to shag some fly balls with the baseball team.
D’Amico lives in Penfield with his wife, Beth.
