BCSD Homecoming Parade set for Sept. 27

Streams of blue and white will be seen throughout the Brockport village streets on Saturday, September 27 during Brockport Central School’s homecoming parade.

The parade will begin at the intersection of College Street and Utica Street at 5 p.m., traveling south on Utica Street to Adams Street and turning onto Allen Street. The parade will conclude at the High School prior to the 7 p.m. football game against Brighton at Dahn Walrath Stadium. The Class of 2015 will hold its tailgating party immediately following the parade and the stadium concession stand will also be open.

The Brockport Homecoming Committee chairperson Luke Bamburoski, along with Senior Class President Alex Bill, student council, administration and class advisors are working hard to make this third annual Homecoming Parade a success.

High School classes are decorating their floats, which will be judged by a panel of community members. The winning class will be announced during half-time of the football game. Themes for this year’s class floats include Big Cities: freshman – London; sophomores – Los Angeles; juniors – New York City; and seniors – Las Vegas.

“The parade is such a wonderful event that brings the entire community together,” said High School Principal Dr. Dana Boshnack. “It’s always great to continue the traditions of Brockport. We are so thankful to our village and police department for supporting our homecoming weekend!”

In addition to the high school, alumni, and other Brockport schools, community members will participate in the parade. Thank you to the community sponsors for helping to make the parade possible. Current platinum sponsors include Wegmans and Five Star Bank.

Anyone interested in entering a float or becoming a parade sponsor, may complete forms posted on the high school web page at www.bcs1.org. Parade sponsor forms are due by September 16 and float registrations are due by September 20.

Parking will be available throughout the village and on the District campus. Don’t forget to show your school pride by wearing your blue and white. If you have any questions, please contact Assistant Principal Matt Schultz at 585-637-1870 or matthew.shultz@bcs1.org.
