Taylor Elementary students jump rope for AHA
Students at Taylor Elementary School participated in their annual Jump Rope for Heart event on February 5 to raise funds for the American Heart Association. Students more than surpassed their original goal of $12,000, by actually raising $13,500 for the AHA. This achievement also meant that by meeting the goal, physical education teacher Amy Nesbitt would dye her hair pink.
“I visited my hair dresser and have a vibrant new hue to my hair!” Nesbitt said. “I am very proud of the wonderful spirit of the kids at Taylor. We had every student in the building participate in Jump Rope for Heart that day, and they really showed what it means to work together to achieve a common goal.”
