This is the third year that the generous members of the Churchville-Chili 7th Grade Band have put their hearts into hard work for a great cause. Their annual “Christmas Shoe Practice-A-Thon” event ran for just two weeks, during which they collectively practiced over 20,000 minutes, and raised almost $2,000 in order to provide 555 pairs of new shoes to children living in poverty. “Students promised to increase their practice times if sponsors would make donations for the Christmas Shoes Project,” said band director Shelley Sadler. “The donations support the work of the Life Today organization, which provides durable water-resistant shoes to children in 30 different countries. For many kids, this will be the first pair of shoes they have ever owned.”

The Grades 7-8 Instrumental Bands will perform a holiday concert on Friday, December 11 at 7 p.m. in the C-C PAC theatre. The community is invited to join them and to hear the results of all their hard work.
