Teachers, staff and administrators will take to the basketball court
Brockport Central School District’s Family and Community Liaisons will host a faculty basketball game to benefit the district’s Unified Sports Program. Tip-off begins at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2 at the Oliver Middle School lower gym.
Staff from the elementary level will take on staff from the secondary level in this game that’s bound to be an exciting one, officiated by Superintendent Lesli C. Myers and Board Trustee David Howlett.
In its inaugural year, the Unified Sports Program made Brockport Central School District and the community proud by connecting students, student leaders, teachers and administrators through the common bond of athletics.
“We believe their efforts extended beyond athletics by inspiring compassion, camaraderie, inclusion and friendly competition,” said Mike Ferris, BCSD Family and Community Liaison. “The team served as an exemplary model of our district’s mission, which is to engage and empower each student to achieve excellence as a learner and citizen.”
The goal of this event is to raise awareness and support the Unified Sports Program as it moves into its second season. A $1 donation will be collected at the door and concessions and t-shirts will be available for sale. Proceeds from the game will go towards items such as awards and uniforms.
All community members are invited to attend.
