Open House helps students and families prepare for summer
Churchville-Chili schools will host a K-12 Summer Open House on April 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the Middle School to help students get ready for a fun and productive summer break. Dozens of representatives from local organizations, summer camps and programs, nonprofits and businesses will be on hand to answer questions about recreation, volunteer and job opportunities available to children of all ages.
Parent Involvement Coordinator Wendy Reese describes the Summer Open House as a popular program for families and young people, and will have a wide variety of ideas for summer activities. “This is a great way for kids and parents to check out many different fun summer camps and programs, and meet representatives, all in one place. For older kids who are seeking jobs or volunteer positions for the summer, it is a wonderful way to make valuable connections.”
The Open House is free and open to all Churchville-Chili students and families. Participating organizations include:
•Camps and activities – Camp Invention®, Chili Recreation, Drama Kids International®, Riga Recreation, Roberts Wesleyan, Rochester Canoe Club, Rochester Fencing Club, Rochester Yacht Club, YMCA and many more.
•Employment or volunteer opportunities – Darien Lake, Seabreeze and YMCA.
(The summer camps and organizations represented at the Churchville-Chili K-12 Summer Open House are for information gathering and convenience of the community members, and there is no intention to constitute affiliation, endorsement, recommendation or favoring by Churchville-Chili Central School District).
