Spencerport community supports 2016-17 school budget
Spencerport School District voters approved the $77,130,717 million budget proposal for 2016-17 with authorization to expend $95,000 of reserves to purchase classroom equipment.
Approximately 1,494 voters cast their ballots on May 17, with the following results:
•Proposition 1: the budget and use of reserve funds for classroom equipment: 1,140 in favor (77.2 percent) and 337 opposed (22.8 percent).
•The three candidates elected to the Board of Education were: Greg Kincaid (1,150); Gary Bracken (835); and Katherine Czarnecki (808). The remaining candidates received: Janet Tyler (615) and William Sweeney (529) votes.
Superintendent Michael Crumb expressed his appreciation to Spencerport’s community, district staff and Budget Focus Group.
