Spencerport Student-Athletes Care community/volunteer projects
Spencerport Central Schools Department of Physical Education and Athletics is very proud to announce that each of its fall varsity athletic teams participated in a volunteer community service/charity project through the Spencerport Student-Athletes Care Program during the 2017 fall season.
Boys Soccer sssisted SSBC with Food Truck Rodeo set up and clean up.
Girls Soccer conducted a free youth Ranger Girls Soccer Skills Academy on Saturdays in the fall and participated in the Section V Beats Cancer event.
Girls Swimming participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk and hosted “Pink in the Pool” Invitational raising $1,000 for Breast Cancer research.
Boys/Girls Cross Country assisted with the Rochester Marathon.
Girls Tennis held a food drive to benefit the Spencerport Food Shelf.
Football participated in “Moving Day” for the National Parkinson’s Foundation in honor of longtime volunteer Robert “Pop” Dennis.
Boys Volleyball conducted a free youth volleyball clinic and held a food drive to benefit the Spencerport Food Shelf.
Girls Volleyball distributed items at the Mobile Food Pantry at Cosgrove Middle School in association with Foodlink.
Girls Golf distributed items at the Mobile Food Pantry at Cosgrove Middle School in association with Foodlink
Fall Cheerleading participated in “Moving Day” for the National Parkinson’s Foundation in honor of longtime volunteer Robert “Pop” Dennis.
The Spencerport Student-Athletes Care program won the 1994 National Award of Excellence for Community Relations from Athletic Management Magazine.
