Hilton students tour Omega Consolidated during Small Business Week
Four Hilton High School students spent time at Omega Consolidated Corp. in Hilton as part of Small Business Week, April 30-May 5. The visits were coordinated by ACT for Education, an initiative that delivers positive messaging about our local school districts and encourages community support of public education, as a way to get students involved in their communities and prepare for their futures. Martin F. Hunte, Omega president, gave the students a tour of the precision machining, design, fabrication and assembly plant. He also talked to the students about the traits he looks for in potential employees – an interest in math and science, and most importantly, a good attitude. The students were accompanied by technology teacher Steve Randall and alternative education teacher Doug Whitehair.
