There will be two big events at WEMOCO Career and Technical Education Center, 3589 Big Ridge Road, Spencerport, on Saturday, March 30.
The SkillsUSA Vendor and Craft Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event features professional vendor and craft booths from the community and WEMOCO students will provide activities, services, and products they have created.
Participants can take the controls of heavy equipment in “Digger Land!” with students in Heavy Equipment Operations and Maintenance. Cosmetology students will offer manicures and pedicures. Shop for custom t-shirts, jewelry, signs and other products created by students. Certified Nurse Assisting students will offer blood pressure testing. Lunch will be available for purchase from the Culinary and Baking classes. Child care available from Child and Family Development students.
The SkillsUSA Vendor and Craft Show is open to the public with free admission. Funds raised support students traveling to state and national SkillsUSA competitions.
There will also be a WEMOCO Alumni Celebration held the same day. The event is open to all WEMOCO alumni and begins with a meet and greet at 11 a.m. Reservations are not required. Awards will be presented at 11:30 a.m. for Outstanding Young Alumnus/Alumna, Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna and Distinguished Community Partner. Alumni will have an opportunity to tour the school, see the new facilities, and visit the SkillsUSA fundraiser following the awards presentation.
