Churchville-Chili to hold commmunity presentations on proposed budget
At its April 9 Board of Education meeting, the Churchville-Chili Board of Education adopted the proposed budget of $85,362,900 for the 2019-20 year. The proposed budget reflects a budget-to-budget increase of 0.57 percent. This would mean a 2.30 percent increase in the tax levy, which is below the district’s levy cap of 3.23 percent, equaling an estimated tax rate decrease of 0.61 percent for the towns of Chili, Ogden, and Sweden and a tax rate increase of 1.42 percent in the town of Riga due to an equalization rate of 98 percent. The Proposed Budget will now be put before the community for a vote on May 21, 2019.
The second proposition on the ballot will be the purchase of 10 buses at a cost not to exceed $1,210,000.
Community members are welcome to attend any of the presentations of the Proposed 2019-20 Budget listed below. The Public Hearing for the Proposed Budget will be held at 7 p.m. on May 7, at the open board meeting in the Board of Education Meeting Room in the Administration Building.
