St. Paul Lutheran starts the year with new principal, new pastor
St. Paul Lutheran Church and School begins the new school year with changes at the top.
Rev. Mark Ball, who served the last seven years as school administrator has been called to serve as St. Paul’s senior pastor. David Spiehler, who was previously the school’s development director, now serves as interim principal.
Pastor Ball is a son of St. Paul Lutheran Church and School, having grown up within the congregation and graduated from the school. He is St. Paul’s seventh head shepherd since the congregation was formed in 1898. He and his wife Leslie have seven children ages four to 17. Leslie leads a Christian child care ministry in Spencerport, JLU Child Care.
Mr. Spiehler comes to St. Paul with a wealth of non-public school experience. He served as Dean of Admissions, Marketing and Financial Aid at Allendale Columbia School for eight years and as Athletic Director of McQuaid Jesuit for 13 years. Dave and his wife Noreen have three children.
St. Paul Lutheran Church, located at 158 East Avenue, has been serving the Hilton community for more than 120 years. The school, which serves students age two through eighth grade, began in 1956.
Next up for St. Paul, the church and school will experience The Story together, a 31-week journey through the Bible, beginning October 6. This experience is open to the community.
