Brockport CSD celebrates School Board Recognition Week
The Brockport Central School District joined all public school districts across the state to celebrate School Board Recognition Week, October 21 through 25.
School board members take on an important citizen responsibility – overseeing the education of the community’s youth. Boards of Education guide their local school district and ensure public schools are flexible and responsive to the needs of the community. School boards are comprised of volunteers, most of whom do not receive any compensation. They are community members who dedicate their time to improving public education.
In celebration of School Board Week, Superintendent Lesli Myers-Small stated, “We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the BCSD Board of Education. Our board members continuously volunteer their time to support our students, staff and the district.”
During the October 15 Board of Education meeting, students and staff from each school presented board members with gifts and words of appreciation for their continued service.
2019-20 BCSD Board of Education members and years of service: President Terry Ann Carbone, five years; Vice President Jeffrey Harradine, two years; Trustee David Howlett, four years; Trustee Daniel Legault, three years; Trustee Robert Lewis, one year; Trustee Kathleen Robertson, five years; and Trustee Michael Turbeville, one year.
