Host families sought for high school exchange students

ASSE International Student Exchange Programs (ASSE), in cooperation with community high schools, is looking for local families to host boys and girls between the ages of 15 and 18 from a variety of countries including Germany, Ukraine, Thailand, Japan, and Kazakhstan, to name just a few.

ASSE students are enthusiastic and excited to experience American culture while they practice and further develop their English language skills. They also love to share their own language and culture with their host families and new friends. Host families welcome these exceptional students into their home, not as a guest, but as a family member, giving everyone involved a rich and memorable cultural experience.

Students are accepted into the ASSE program based on their written application, academic achievement, and personal narratives. Host families are able to choose their student from a variety of countries, backgrounds, beliefs, lifestyles, and personal interests. The exchange student will have pocket money for personal experiences, in addition to full health, accident, and liability insurance. Students will obtain their study visa if travel is approved by the Department of State, in cooperation with the CDC, WHO, and their home government agencies.

To become an ASSE Host Family or to find out how to become involved with ASSE as a student in an outbound program, call or text local Area Representative, Zach Arenz at 250-0636 or call the ASSE Eastern Regional Office at 800-677-2773. Visit www.asse.com to begin the host family application, learn more about offered programs, and view current prospective student profiles.
