The Brockport Board of Education has selected Sean Bruno as the next superintendent of the Brockport Central School District. He will assume his new role in midsummer.
Bruno is currently the superintendent of schools for Mexico Academy and Central School District, where he has led the district for the past five years. Prior to his current role, he served as principal of the Fred W. Hill Elementary School in Brockport.
“More than seven months ago, we began a diligent, meticulous search for the next superintendent of Brockport Central Schools,” said Brockport School Board President Terry Ann Carbone. “The Board of Education is delighted to welcome Sean. He shares the board’s high expectations for, and love of, this district. We are pleased to have the benefit of his many years of quality experience as a superintendent, and are confident there are bright days ahead for all of the members of the BCS family.”
During his 25 years in education, Bruno has also served as an assistant principal, special education teacher, and teacher assistant at all levels across varied demographics.
He earned his Bachelor of Science at SUNY Buffalo. He continued his studies at Niagara University, earning a Master of Science and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration and Supervision. Bruno also completed the New York State Council of School Superintendents Leadership for Educational Achievement Foundation Future Superintendents Academy and SUNY Oswego’s New York State Superintendent Development Program.

Bruno added, “I look forward to reconnecting with colleagues in a family atmosphere, where together we honor Brockport’s rich history and traditions, while collectively pursuing an uncompromising commitment toward continuous improvement and a passion for professional, organizational and academic excellence.”
Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES District Superintendent Jo Anne L. Antonacci assisted the Brockport Board of Education as a search consultant throughout the process.
