D’Amico appointed principal of Merton Williams Middle School
Merton Williams Middle School in the Hilton School District will welcome Marc D’Amico as principal on July 1. He replaces Tracie Czebatol, who was promoted to the position of Director of Reporting and Compliance.
D’Amico most recently held the position of assistant principal at Hilton High School. He joined the Hilton School District in 2005, providing Academic Intervention Services at Merton Williams Middle School. He then moved to Hilton High School in 2007, where he taught English before taking the position of assistant principal in 2014. In addition, he coached modified baseball from 2005 through 2014, and formed and co-directed Tuesday Night Live!, Hilton High School’s improvisational comedy club, from 2008 through 2020. D’Amico began his teaching career at Charlotte High School in 2003.
A graduate of Churchville-Chili High School, D’Amico earned a bachelor’s degree in English at SUNY Geneseo, a master’s degree in education at SUNY Buffalo, and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration at The College at Brockport. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Administration at the University of Rochester Warner School of Education.
“Merton Williams is where I began my Hilton teaching career, and I cannot think of a greater professional honor than to serve the staff, students, and families of this remarkable school during this unique moment,” said D’Amico. “Students deserve a high-quality education in a safe and equitable space that allows them to be their authentic selves. I will work to make Merton a place where students and staff can build meaningful relationships while developing a sense of identity, community, and purpose. I promise to be Present, Passionate, and Patient in all I do.”
D’Amico lives in Penfield with his wife, Beth, and their daughter, Olivia, who will be two in August.
