Brockport’s 15th Walk To School event was hampered by the current COVID-19 pandemic but was not stopped by it. Walk To School Day, which is usually the first Wednesday in October to coincide with International Walk To School Day, became, with the new educational hybrid model and no school on Wednesdays, a weeklong event so as to include all students. Although greeters, water/coffee stations, cheering high school students, music, and counters were absent, a number of dedicated and hardy walkers walked to school between October 5 and 9. My hat’s off to all of you who walked! The Walk To School Committee looks forward to next year when Brockport’s Walk To School Day will once more be a district event anticipated by all!
