Kristin Swann named Spencerport school superintendent
The Spencerport Board of Education has selected Kristin Swann as the next superintendent of the Spencerport Central School District. The Board formally approved her appointment during its meeting on April 13, with her official start date of July 1, 2021.
“I am proud of my board colleagues for their diligence during the exhaustive process to select our new superintendent,” said Board President Kevin Hutton. “Kristin demonstrated enthusiasm for student achievement and a commitment to culturally responsive education. Her many years of experience working on behalf of students of all abilities will serve Spencerport well.”
Swann is currently the associate superintendent for educational services in the Victor Central School District, a position she has held since 2013. From 2004 to 2013, she was the director of pupil personnel services for Victor CSD. Prior to that, Swann served as coordinator of special education in the Greece Central School District after beginning her career there as a school psychologist.
“I am honored and grateful to the Board of Education for extending me the opportunity to serve as Spencerport’s next superintendent,” Swann said. “Spencerport benefits from a close-knit community, and I truly enjoyed all of the interactions I had with students, school personnel and community representatives throughout the interview process. I look forward to being a part of the Spencerport team and serving our community. Together, we will create opportunities that allow our children to grow and flourish.”
The district is committed to a smooth transition in the coming months, and would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Pam Kissel for her strength and leadership as our interim superintendent.
