Brockport CSD welcomes new Assistant Principals

Brockport Central School District has selected Orlando Benzan as an Assistant Principal for Brockport High School and Randall Yu as the Assistant Principal for Ginther Elementary School. “The postings for these positions resulted in stellar internal candidates,” said Superintendent Bruno. Both Benzan and Yu have been teachers at BCSD for many years and have held various leadership roles on campus. Both were approved by Brockport’s Board of Education during the June 20 BOE meeting and will begin their new positions this summer. 

Orlando Benzan

Orlando Benzan started teaching Social Studies at Brockport High School in 2005. He was recently named the District’s Equity and Inclusion Specialist, served as president of the Brockport’s Teacher’s Association for 11 years, and has been an advisor and coach. Mr. Benzan has a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from SUNY Brockport and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and History from SUNY Oswego. He also holds his School Building Leader/ School District Leader certification from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. 

Randall Yu

Randall Yu started teaching fifth grade at Hill Elementary in 2012 and is currently the Principal for the District’s K-6 Literacy/Numeracy Summer School. He has served as Brockport’s new teacher mentor, the Grade 5 Math PLC leader/facilitator, the elementary Math/Science curriculum and assessment writer, and has been a varsity football coach since 2010. Mr. Yu has a Master in Arts in Childhood Literacy from SUNY Brockport, a Bachelor of Science in Childhood Education from SUNY Buffalo, and is currently completing his NYS School Building Leader/School District Leader certification with SUNY Brockport.
