Retired Hilton teacher’s aide receives New York State Proclamation

On November 1, Senator Jeremy Cooney, 56th District, presented Lynda Donovan, retired Hilton CSD teaching assistant, with a proclamation honoring her service to her community and state. Donovan worked in the Hilton School District for 20 years before retiring in June. She also served as president of the Hilton Central School District Employee Association.

“I have a special place in my heart for educators, so we have started to recognize education leaders in the 56th District who have made a significant contribution in their community,” said Cooney, who presented Donovan with the framed proclamation in a small ceremony attended by Hilton CSD administrators and Donovan’s family, including her nephew, Assemblyman Josh Jensen.

“I look at my students over the past 20 years and they would not be who they are without the teachers, SRPs (school-related professionals), administrators and school board. It’s everyone around us – it takes a community,” said Donovan.

“Lynda was an outstanding educator in the Hilton Central School District who always put students first,” said Superintendent Dr. Casey Kosiorek. “In her role as president of the Hilton Central Employees Association, Lynda was a pleasure to work with as we advanced the district’s mission, vision and beliefs.”
