Brockport NHS inducts new members
The Brockport High School Chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) recently welcomed 21 new members. NHS is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students who have demonstrated excellence in scholarship, service, leadership and character.
The induction ceremony began with a welcome from BHS Principal Michael Pincelli, followed by opening comments and an overview of the honor society from NHS advisers Patricia Arnold and Rebecca Barrett. Current NHS officers also discussed the importance of the four pillars in which the society was built.
Keynote speaker and BHS Math Teacher, Michael Gagnier, discussed the hard work and dedication it takes to become a National Honor Society member. He encouraged inductees to think of how they will continue to embody the four NHS pillars throughout high school and beyond. “I hope you think of this as the beginning of a life-long opportunity to live up to the ideals that you put forth in your (NHS) application essay,” he said. “Be the best version of you, you can be.”
New BHS NHS inductees are Olivia Allen, Yausmaris Amores-Aguiar, Maggice Chen, Jillian Cordeiro, Owen Cummings, Berit Dauenhauer, Jessica DiFilippo, Desilets Dubois, John Galbreth, Makayla Haibach, Julia Hunsinger, Jason Kleehammer, Noelle Natale, Adriana Passalacqua, Gregory Rightmyer, Nicolas Rugari, KhaNy Sangasy, Caleb Tribotte, Natalie Utz, Sophia Visconte, and Jyonnah Ware.
