CCCSD Board of Education adopts 2022-23 proposed budget

At its April 12 meeting, the Churchville-Chili Board of Education adopted the proposed budget of $94,760,783 for the 2022-23 school year. The proposed budget reflects a budget-to-budget increase of 3.45%. This would mean a 2.75% increase in the tax levy, which is below the district’s levy cap of 4.32%. The tax rates for individual homeowners will vary based on their town’s equalization rate. The Proposed Budget will now be put before the community for a vote on May 17, from noon to 9 p.m. in the MSN Cafeteria, door 31.

The second proposition on the ballot will be the purchase of eight buses at a cost not to exceed $1,265,936.

The third proposition on the ballot would be the creation of a Capital Reserve Fund (known as the 2022 Capital Reserve Fund) to finance site work, construction and reconstruction and equipping of school buildings and facilities, acquisition of land, or rights in land, and costs incidental thereto; the ultimate amount of such a fund to be $15,000,000 plus earnings.

The Public Hearing for the Proposed Budget will be held at 7 p.m. on May 3 at the open Board meeting in the Middle School Auditorium, door 24.
