Hilton receives split decision on Capital Project vote

On March 7, the Hilton Central School District put forth a Capital Project Vote with two propositions. Proposition One was approved with 2,046 in favor and 1,180 opposed. Proposition One is a $37.2 million project that addresses maintenance and infrastructure improvements at all five schools identified in the five-year Building Condition Survey required by New York State and prioritized by the Hilton CSD Long Range Planning Committee. These projects focus on safety, energy efficiency, technology infrastructure and building maintenance. There will be no local tax impact.

Proposition Two was defeated with 729 in favor and 2,506 opposed. Proposition Two proposed the construction of a field house and performing arts center.

The district would like to thank everyone who took the time to cast their ballots.
