CCCSD team wins Monroe County Envirothon

Team #1 from Churchville-Chili Senior High School took first place at the Monroe County Envirothon on May 18. The Envirothon is a series of events in which teams of high school students compete by answering questions about five environmental topics: aquatics, forestry, soils, current issues, and wildlife. Teams also prepare a short oral presentation based off of the current issue topic of the year which focused on adapting to climate change. After winning at the county level, the Churchville-Chili team went on to compete against 40 other teams at the state competition held May 24 and 25 at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. The student team from The Mount Academy placed first and will represent NY at the national competition in July.
