Sarah Williams, a senior at Hilton High School, has been awarded a Falcon Foundation Scholarship from her application to the United States Air Force Academy.
According to its website, the Falcon Foundation recognizes that many deserving young people might need additional academic preparation to help them realize their potential for an Academy education and Air Force or Space Force career. To meet this need, the Foundation provides annual scholarship grants to specially selected civilian junior college and preparatory schools throughout the country.
Sarah was one of the over 10,000 applicants seeking appointment to the Air Force Academy. While this year’s numbers aren’t yet available, 1,416 were ultimately admitted into the Academy last year and only 71 scholarships were awarded, so it is an honor to receive the Falcon Scholarship.
Sarah has chosen Georgia Military College and will begin her training in August in pursuit of her appointment to the United States Air Force Academy.
