Merton Williams Middle School donated over 700 items to the Hilton Parma Emergency Food Shelf as part of this year’s International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) Service Learning Project. Service as action is a foundational element of IB MYP as it seeks to develop caring members of the community who act to make a positive difference to the lives of others and their environment.
The school held a team competition with the winning team, Team Destiny, donating the most food. As a reward, the team enjoyed cider and donuts during their activity set. Two more drives are scheduled for this year, each with a different twist to keep students excited about giving back.
