Byron-Bergen teacher represents NYS at National Association of Agriculture Educators
Byron-Bergen High School Teacher Jeffrey Parnapy was one of four New York State delegates for the New York Association of Agricultural Educators (NYAAE) at the National Association of Agriculture Educators (NAAE) in Phoenix, Arizona, from November 28 through December 1. Parnapy was elected as the president of the NYAAE on June 21, 2023.
“I believe it is important for educators to take part in professional organizations within their fields of expertise,” said Parnapy. “It is an honor to represent New York State and to represent a rural district. Our students are the future of agriculture.”
As President, Parnapy presides over meetings for the NYAAE and the governing board of the New York FFA Association. He also represented NYAAE at the Region VI NAAE conference in Bordentown, New Jersey, and attended the 96th National FFA convention and expo in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he represented NY FFA at Equity, Diversity and Inclusion collaborative with National FFA. As part of the national FFA convention he also judged Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) grant applications, Agricultural Educators leadership awards, and Superior Chapter awards.
