Hilton students participate in RIT Start Here Exhibition
Nine Hilton High School student-artists, and four student-artists from Merton Williams Middle School had their work on display at the annual Start Here Exhibition at RIT’s Bevier Gallery. Start Here is an exhibition of outstanding student work from high schools and middle schools in the Rochester and Finger Lakes region.
The show opened on January 19, and four High School artists received awards:
•Christina Bettin, 12th grade, won the RIT School of Art’s 2D Art Education Award for her oil pastel painting, “The Baker.”
•Maya Indelicato, 12th grade, won the RIT School for American Crafts’ Metals and Jewelry Design Award for her sculptural jewelry work, “Everlasting Decay.”
•Bronte Jones, 12th grade, won the RIT School of Photographic Sciences’ Visual Media Award for her photographic work, “Beyond the Frame.”
•Olivia O’Connor, 11th grade, won the RIT School of Art’s 3D Medical-Illustration Award for her mixed media sculpture, “Long Live.”
Ayla Batz (12), Mary Burke (11), Abby Cragle (8), Natalie Goodrich (9), Alexandra Kuhn (10), Grace Levis (10), London McCullough (8), Isabella Resides (8), and Audrey White (8) also had work in the exhibition.
